What Money Can't Buy
Did your mom ever tell you that money can't buy everything?  Well it's true!  My life is SOOO RICH.  My bank statement might disagree, but no one has enough money to purchase what really counts in life.  I have been blessed with a wonderful family.  I overlooked this blessing a lot throughout my youth.  I never realized what a tight, loving, caring family I have.  We look out for each other and we know each other's strengths and weaknesses so well, that sometimes it's kinda scary.  I married the most patient man you have ever met.  Guess what...money can't buy that!  Money can't buy success, happiness, and acceptance.  You have to work for those things continually throughout life.  Count your blessings one by one...and treasure up what really counts in life.

A Few Guilty Pleasures
I'm not sayin' that it's not fun to have some spending money...but it's just nice to put things into perspective.  Call me crazy, but my guilty pleasure is shopping at the DI.  I know, call me crazy.  The best thing about the DI is that it's like a hidden treasure.  Most people simply don't go there.  Some show up occasionally to pick up an appliance part or to get a hideous outfit for a costume party.  Others, like my husband and I, search for those hidden second-hand treasures.  We buy kids books and movies all the time, and sometimes we go just for the fun of looking.  Even my wedding dress was from the DI for 45 bucks.  I am grateful for what money CAN buy, no doubt about it.  But I am even more grateful for the time that I get to spend with those I love... because money simply CANNOT buy back time.

On Wednesday, May 18th, I woke up with a sore throat.  I didn't have much of a voice either.  Josh got Samuel up and mentioned that Samuel had been coughing a bit.  I thought to myself, 'here we go again'.  I swear we haven't been able to catch a break from sickness or injury this year. While I was getting ready for the day, Samuel walked into my bathroom.  He started coughing a bunch and then choking.  I didn't know that he had shared a doughnut with Daddy right before he walked in to see me.  The doughnut had walnuts sprinkled on top.  I thought he was about to throw up (I didn't realize he was choking on a walnut).  So I immediately held him over the sink.  After not breathing for a short second or two, he coughed out a small bit of food (aka. the walnut).  The moment was tense, but I was relieved when he was breathing and acting normal again.  Our morning routine continued and I quickly forgot about the intense choking mo...

Growing Up

If you were to ask me what I constantly struggle with... it is CHANGE .   I find comfort in schedules, routines and expectations that periods of my life have to offer.  Whenever I turn the page to a new chapter in my life, I am faced with a great sense of insecurity and hesitation.  Now that I am crossing through a new threshold, I've realized that I still haven't grown up. I taught for two years and just finished my last day of school on the 7th.  I am leaving something behind that I am very passionate about... TEACHING .  It is hard for me to let go of the known and step out into the unknown.  I was very prayerful about my decision to become a  mommy and have the time to stay at home.  This is what I have always wanted and I know that it is the right decision for our family.  But it doesn't make the transition easy.  I put so much work and time into teaching and let's be honest... a whole lotta heart.  I spent our last few min...

Highlights & Lowlights

2017 was beautifully orchestrated with many highs and lows.   Josh: Grew out his facial hair and he loved it. Continued working at Colmek. Continued in his church calling as the Assistant Financial Clerk. Hiked to the peak of Mt Timpanogos. Ran a Half Marathon Josh is the glue to our crazy family.  Sarah: Had our 3rd baby boy. Celebrated 10 yrs since graduating from Viewmont. Continued in my church calling as Primary President. Organized a Fundraiser Yard Sale with two days notice.  We raised just over $2k for our close friends. Experienced my 1st pedicure.  Started my 3rd year teaching preschool in my home.  Fine-tuned my ability to plan meaningful, but cheap family activities.
